Here we are back at Pre-school after the summer holidays.  It has been a busy first two weeks, with lots of children returning after the long holiday, together with new children starting at the setting.  The first few weeks are all about making sure the children are comfortable and confident in the setting, re-visiting or forming those bonds with their key person and the rest of the team.

The children at Anthony Roper Pre-school lead their own learning, with self-selected resources and self-initiated play.  The Early Years Educators act as facilitators in their learning; observing their play, noting their interests and providing opportunities to extend the activities and therefore their learning.  Ensuring the children’s well-being and involvement is fundamental to our philosophy.  When children are secure and engaged, their deep level thinking takes place.  A child who has chosen something that sparks their interest will be engaged and motivated.  At Anthony Roper Pre-school we give the children opportunities to explore their environment, with hands-on experiences, both inside and out.
