Dear Families

It was with a heavy heart that we said goodbye to many of you for the foreseeable future. We have loved having your children with us and we would never have thought that their time at Pre-school could potentially end in this way. Let’s hope that there is some small chance that we may be able to re-open before we finish for the summer.

The Pre-school will only be partially open for the foreseeable future to support those parents who are working in critical roles. As there is not enough demand this week to justify opening the setting and continuing to expose our team to further risk, we will remain closed to all families. This is a very fluid situation, which will, no doubt, change on a regular basis. If you have not already done so, and you feel that you do fall into the critical role category, you will need to get in touch as soon as possible so that we can plan for the following week (ie week beginning 30th March). Our team need to have notice to make arrangements to look after their own families.

With regards to the forthcoming Easter holidays, the setting will not be open. Our team have worked tirelessly over the last few weeks, in very challenging circumstances, and they really need a break.

The Pre-school Committee – who are working very hard behind the scenes on our and your behalf, whilst juggling their own busy lives and familes (they are both volunteers who have shown great commitment to the setting and to whom we would like to express our eternal gratitude) – would like to share the following section with you:

We would like to reassure parents that we will not be charging fees from Easter for the duration of our closure, with the exception of those children who will continue to attend for reasons already stated. In those few instances, fees will only be charged for sessions not covered by KCC funding. We would however be grateful if parents could pay any outstanding invoices (for the spring term) as soon as possible to ensure we can continue to remain open during these difficult months. We would also like to reassure parents that they will not lose their child’s usual sessions once we reopen and we will do our best to honour any new or changed sessions parents have requested for September.

In the meantime, we wish you all a safe and peaceful week and we hope that we will get to see you and your wonderful children in the not too distant future.
