👩‍👧‍👦 Looking at Ourselves and Our Families 🏠🐶

This term we have been learning all about ourselves, our families and the things that make us unique. 😊

We talked about how we can have lots of similarities with our friends, but also lots of differences – and that’s what makes each of us special! ❤️

The children enjoyed drawing portraits of their friends and looking carefully at their faces. We talked about our different hair colours, eye colours, skin tones and features, and noticed what we had in common and what made us different. 🎨👀

We also talked about our families and pets 🐶🐱🐰 and shared stories about the animals we have at home. The children enjoyed discovering that some friends have pets while others don’t, and that our pets can be very different too!

We then explored the different types of homes we live in. 🏡🏢 We talked about houses, flats and other types of homes, and how our homes can look very different on the outside and inside.

It has been lovely listening to the children talk about themselves and their families and seeing how interested they are in learning about one another. Most importantly, we have been learning that we are all different, and we are all special! 🌈💕
