Fathers’ Day Shopping
We were lucky to have been loaned two large spider plants by members of the local community. These ‘mother’ plants had had lots of ‘baby’ spider plants. The children were interested to see how the baby plants grew from the mother plant. They helped to cut the baby plant from the mother plant and pot it into some compost ready to give to their dads on Fathers’ Day. The children also made cards ready for Fathers’ Day. During the week, the children brought in their donation to buy their Fathers’ Day present, the spider plant they had potted and a specially selected bar of chocolate – we think they generally chose what they liked, but hopefully all the dads got to eat it!
We help the children to understand very simple economics. This was an example of a circular economy in action. We were donated the plants, we created more products from the original plants, we then sold the created products to their families and then the money raised goes back into investing in the resources and activities that the children take part in at the Pre-school. As always, thank you for your support with our fundraising efforts.
We hope you had a lovely day on Sunday celebrating with your little ones. We managed to raise £80.30.
There are photos on our website and Facebook page.
Thank you.
