Extreme weather

This week the children seemed really interested in the extreme weather that we have been experiencing recently, with some being a little wary of the changes and so we used this as an opportunity to explore further. They started off having a run around the garden with one child saying ‘I love this wind, it’s blowing my hair!’ We had a further think about what we could do and with the help of some colourful scarves we made a ‘windy rainbow’. We clipped the scarves to the fence and watched them blow like ‘crazy’ in the wind, the children were fascinated by their erratic movement. The children then found out what happened when we threw the scarves up into the air. Our scarves blew really fast in the wind, which then led to a competition of whose could go the furthest. We finished by pretending to be superheroes and using the scarves as capes and having the wind as our superpower!

As always pictures of what we have been up to are on our website and Facebook page.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Thank you,

The Pre-school Team
